　Human and eternal spheres intersect in a traditional form, a river reflecting stars — the tragedy of the Fukushima Reactor plant is fresh in our minds in this haiku of social consciousness (shakaisei), indicated by “no-go zone.” The first line orients readers to those news photos of red circles around a bull’s-eye target, graphically symbolizing various zones of suffering and catastrophe. While there may be irony in the seemingly impassive “twinkle” of stars, on the other hand there exists a connection to an ancestral knowing, eternal time — the deep and abiding cultural resources of the haiku form itself a form of cultural capital: this too shall pass.

　この作品では人間世界と宇宙の永遠の世界が川に映る星影という昔ながらの言い方の中で交差している。ここで「立入禁止」で示される福島原発の悲劇を詠う作品は社会詠のハイクとして新鮮である。まず一行目で読者はニュース写真で出てくるようなその向うは苦悩と破局の立入禁止区域を示す赤い丸印の場面を思いだす。そして見かけは無表情の星の「またたき」といったアイロニー的な表現ではあるが、他方で祖先からの知恵や永遠の時間への繋がりを存続させている。この繋がりとは奥が深く変わることのない文化遺産であるハイク形式そのものなのである。
